Privacy

Last updated · 2026-06-23

ReadRound has no signup, no email, and no password. We don’t sell your data, and there are no third-party trackers on the site.

What we keep

Club names, the books and URLs you nominate, the per-club display name you pick, and any comments you write. Plus standard server logs (IP, user agent, request path) for security and debugging — rotated out after about a month.

Cookies

Two first-party cookies recognise you across visits. That’s the lot — no third-party cookies.

Analytics

We count visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we self-host — it’s our own server, not a third-party service like Google Analytics. It’s cookieless and builds no profile of you: we get aggregate counts like which pages get viewed, where visitors arrived from, and rough device and country, with no way to single you out.

Third-party fetches

Pasting a book link may trigger a one-time server-side fetch of the page to read its title and author, plus a lookup against Open Library. Cover images are routed through wsrv.nl, a free image-proxy service that caches them on a CDN to keep the page snappy. Wsrv sees your IP and browser but not the page you came from.

Deleting things

Withdraw a nomination from the club page. Want a whole club deleted, or all your content removed? Email [email protected] and include your resume link so we know you’re the host.

Changes

If we change this page meaningfully, we’ll update the date at the top.
